Central Terminal, Buffalo, N.Y. Regular fit American Bison or BuffaloLithograph postcard view of the Buffalo Central Terminal, which opened in June 1929 and was an active railroad station until 1979, serving 200 trains and 10,000 passengers daily. Lead architect Alfred T. Fellheimer designed the 17 story station in the Art Deco style which flourished in the U. S. in the 1920s and early 1930s. Abandoned for decades, the terminal is now being restored for use as a Civic Commons in the Broadway Fillmore district.
