In describing this bottlings 2016 predecessor I led with the following

44 ha parcel of 90+ year old vines situated directly across from Chambertin

from a plot on very poor soils that has very balanced vines that usually give the more complex and deeper wine from the winery

Rich and earthy

This is also slightly reduced and its enough to render the nose difficult to assess. The medium bodied flavors are both more powerful and concentrated though at the expense of less refinement and minerality on the driving and impressively persistent finish. This will need to add depth to merit the upper end of my predicted range but the underlying material appears to be present so that this can eventually happen. Patience
