Chateau Pesquie, Cotes du Ventoux Quintessence Rouge 2021 Bodegas Ontanon maltiness and hints of fruitThis is the top cuvee from the brilliant Pesquie estate in the Rhone Valley. 80% Syrah and 20% old vine Grenache, the blend is aged for 12 to 18 months in French oak, 40% of which is new. This rich and silky wine can age happily for 10 years and is a consistent favourite of Robert Parker. This was an exceptionally fine year all over the Rhone valley and the wines are already delicious but the best will repay cellaring for longer if you can resist
