The Story I painted this in a steady state untouched, not yet tested, not yet deepened. There was a serenity to it that held its own value, the kind that arrives when one round of life finishes and you do not yet know there is another. I kept the palette knife loose so the surface could breathe. Underneath the calm sat the question: is this peace real, or only the quiet
