Made in Kakunodate, Akita Prefecture, it uses the traditional Kabazaiku technique, where wild cherry bark is hand scraped, polished, and carefully applied to a wooden core. The Kabazaiku technique, unique to Akita, has been practiced since the 1700s and is valued for its natural beauty and craftsmanship. The uncoated
