Graham, who played bass with Sly & the Family Stone, reached #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and topped the Hot Soul Singles chart with this R&B ballad. While this is not a RIAA award, the track was in fact certified Gold by the RIAA on Sept. 24, 1980.
